Ark Valley High Rollers Mix-Up Bout & Annual Chili Cook-Off ~ Saturday, Sept. 26

Chili + Roller Derby = Pure Awesome!!!

Begin your evening by heading to Elevation Beer Co. at 115 Pahlone Pkwy. in Poncha Springs to fill your belly on chili made from our cook-off contestants for $5; includes cornbread, chili tastings and voting eligibility (while chili lasts). Serving starts at 4pm, stops at 5:45pm and the event ends at 6pm.

Interested in cooking up your own pot and vying for the best chili in the Arkansas River Valley? Register online or by mail. All registration forms and information can be found at arkvalleyhighrollers.com. A $20 entry free until Sept. 21 or a $30 after that date will get you entered into the cook-off! You'll receive a ticket to the bout (directly after cook-off), one Elevation Beer Co. beer and will be entered to win prizes: Red, Green, and People's Choice categories. Prizes include AVHR 2016 season pass, a case of Vino Salida wine and more! Winners will be announced at the bout during half time. YUM YUM!

Head on over to the Chaffee County Fairgrounds afterwards to watch the skaters take to the track in this Home Team Mix-Up Bout - Project Prey vs. Team Huntress! Doors open at 6pm with the first whistle at 7pm. A familiar face, Drew Malde, co-founder of the Ark Valley High Rollers, will make a return to the track for one final bout before she heads south for a new life adventure. Itty Bitty Kitty, Sec(c)π, and Sunny Shiner will be making their debut on the track as well so come give some warm derby love to these skaters!

$10 pre-sale tickets available at Moonlight Pizza, Cafe Dawn. $13 tickets available at the door. Free admission for children under 10.

A portion of sales will be donated to GARNA (Greater Arkansas River Nature Association). GARNA’s mission is to foster stewardship of the resources of the greater Arkansas River region through education, volunteerism and experiences.

Concessions will be on hand with a bake sale and libations for those 21 and older.

Afterparty will be directly after the bout at Currents! Come on out and spend an evening supporting your local roller derby team!
