NOTICE OF ELECTION Coordinated Election Chaffee County, Colorado Tuesday, November 3rd, 2015

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Coordinated Election will be held in Chaffee County, Colorado on Tuesday, November 3, 2015. The election will be held as a Mail Ballot election. The polling place and ballot drop box locations are listed below.

All active registered voters will be mailed a ballot beginning October 12, 2015 to the last mailing address appearing in the registration records. Ballots may be returned via the USPS, dropped off at the Chaffee County Clerk and Recorder’s office, or other specified Drop-off Location(s) listed below. See below for specific dates and times.

IMPORTANT: The Affidavit of Voter on the Ballot Envelope MUST BE SIGNED by the voter. Please use black or blue ink ONLY to mark your ballot. Additionally, on the voter instructions if there is a highlighted notice that says “ID Required” be sure to enclose a copy of your ID with your ballot. Your ballot will not count unless ID is provided if this is highlighted on the voter instructions.

REPLACEMENT BALLOTS: If you spoil, deface, or lose your ballot, you may obtain a replacement ballot by contacting the Clerk and Recorder’s Office at 104 Crestone Ave., Salida or by calling the Elections office at 719-539-4004.

You may return your voted ballot by mail or you may hand deliver your ballot to a Designated Drop-off/Voter Service and Polling Center.

Ballots must be RECEIVED at the Chaffee County Elections office or a Designated Drop-off/Voter Service and Polling Center by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day in order for your vote(s) to be counted. Ballots received after 7:00 p.m. on Election Day will not be counted.

Postmarks do not count as a received date. First-Class Mail postage of $0.49 must be applied.

Where can I drop off my ballot?

Voter Service and Polling Centers: Chaffee County Clerk’s Office 104 Crestone Ave Salida, CO Beginning October 13, 2015 open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday, October 31, 2015 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Election Day, Tuesday, November 3 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Chaffee County Clerk’s Motor Vehicle Branch Office 112 Linderman Ave. Buena Vista, CO Beginning October 26, 2015, open Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00p.m. Saturday October 31 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Election Day, Tuesday, November 3 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

You may also return your voted ballot in either of the 24-hour drop boxes outside of both of these locations that will be open beginning Tuesday, October 13, 2015 through 7:00 p.m. on Election Day.
