WHAT: Open tryouts for the Spring u13 teams

CCU Competitive Program is designed for advanced players that are willing to travel and participate in the State League Tryouts are required for both the spring and fall seasons. Competitive teams typically practice 3 x per week, alternating between Salida and Buena Vista. The season includes 9-10 games. 4-5 home 4-5 away. Most of the Games are on Saturdays with the occasional Sunday make up game. Away games are located throughout the state, including Denver and Colorado Springs. Season fees are $250. In addition teams typically play in two tournaments a season. The tournaments require an additional tournament entry fee ($40-$60) as well as lodging expenses. Birth Date: (players born between 8/1/2002 and 7/31/2004) Spring Season Runs from Mid February to Mid May.
Each season our teams are open for tryouts, to give new players a chance to challenge for a spot on the team roster. Tryouts are 90 minutes in length and assess basic technical abilities, as well as tactical understanding.
We only roster 16 players in order to insure quality playing time for each player, we do potentially offer 2 additional “training player” spots for players “on the cusp” who show genuine interest in playing competitively, but are not quite ready for that level of play. This allows those players to receive advanced training, but not play in the games unless a roster spot opens up due to injury, illness, etc.
I invite all new players that are interested in trying out for their respective team to join us on Saturday the 14th.
All current rostered players on both the boys and girls teams who intend to play in the Fall, are expected to participate in the tryout as well. Teams that have just finished the season as u13 teams will remain a u13 team this coming spring.
