Backcountry Film Fest - Jan 16
Great Films for a Great Cause: The 11th annual Backcountry Film Festival comes to the Salida Steamplant Saturday January 16 to benefit the Colorado Mountain Club’s Backcountry Snowsports Initiative. Enjoy an incredible slate of winter films and learn about BSI’s recreation advocacy, mapping projects and more.
This year’s unique films are aimed to inspire winter adventurers to seek the snow less traveled. Produced by the Boise-based nonprofit, Winter Wildlands Alliance, the Backcountry Film Festival is renowned for its mix of professional and grassroots films – from well-known filmmakers who search backcountry corners across the globe to submit their best work to first-timers who take a video camera out on their weekend excursions. The event proceeds support the Colorado Mountain Club’s Backcountry Snowsports Initative (BSI) – your voice for human-powered winter recreation! BSI advocates for backcountry skiers, split-boarders, snow-shoers and winter mountaineers to ensure access to and protection of pristine winter landscapes throughout the state. Learn more about our programs at the event or visit www.cmc.org/bsi. The Film Festival will start at 7pm on January 16 in the Salida Steamplant Theater and the evening will include a cash bar, door prizes and fun for the whole family!
