Snowshoe hike at Leadville Fish Hatchery - March 9
Join GARNA for an easy showshoe hike around the forest of the Leadville National Fish Hatchery through a lodgepole pine forest and past small frozen lakes. The Hatchery provides a peaceful environment with a potential to hike to the Colorado Trail. The Leadville National Fish Hatchery grounds encompass 3,072 acres southwest of Leadville at an elevation of 10,000 feet.Depending on group ability levels, we may break into two groups of more advanced and more beginner level snowshoers.
The hike will be led by Marsha Brown and Michael Fischer, GARNA members and experienced snowshoers, hikers and backpackers. Michelle Mueggler, Recreation Planner for the San Isabel National Forest, Leadville Ranger District will join the group for the morning.
