We are so lucky to have the Arkansas River flowing through our backyards and for all the activities that are centered around it - rafting, fishing, paddle boarding, tubing and swimming. As fun as it can be, we also want to be aware of how dangerous it can be. This clinic is designed to introduce young adults to basic concepts of river safety and awareness. Participants will start at the Salida Hot Springs and Aquatic Center and finish the day at the Salida River Park. There will be an emphasis on essential equipment and how to use it. Participants will also practice swimming in the current. Respect the River! (cost covers all transportation and equipment; bring own lunch, sunscreen, fleece or wool long-sleeves, and dry clothing). Tuesday, June 28 from 8am-3pm. Meet at Salida Hot Springs and Aquatic Center, pick up at Salida Whitewater Park (Coors Boat Ramp). Cost is $60/person. Ages: 12-18.
