Upcoming Salida Recreation Events and Classes for September 2016 CAPTAIN ZIPLINE FIELD TRIPS! We have two Captain Zipline Lost Canyon aerial course field trips to choose from this fall: Adult “Nighttime is Playtime” trip on Saturday, Sept. 24 OR the Family FUNdraiser trip on Saturday, Oct. 1. The Adult field trip will be Saturday, Sept. 24 from 6:30-10:30pm, ages 21 and over, cost is $59/person and includes equipment and guides. The course will be lit up and a bonfire will be below you! Pre-registration is required. Bring water and snacks. Meet at the aquatic center; we will carpool to Wellsville and back. Join Salida Recreation for a family fun trip to raise money for the Youth Scholarship Fund, October 1, 9am-1pm. Ages 8 and over, families are encouraged. Cost is $59/person, HALF will go towards the scholarship fund (after guides & tips). Pre-registration required. Bring water and snacks. Meet at aquatic center; transportation provided.
LEARN TO SWIM GROUP SWIM LESSONS! Preschool Level (ages 4 & 5) through Level 3 (ages 6+), Tuesdays & Wednesdays, 10/18-11/9, 5:15-6pm, 45 minutes, 8 lessons per session. Stoke Clinics for Levels 4 through 6, Mondays, 10/17-11/28 (no class 10/31), 5:30-6:30pm, 1 hour, 6 lessons per session, $50. (Replaces youth stroke clinic). For all levels, please register by the Friday before the session begins: $50/session. Registrations after that are $55/session. Scholarships available. Please call or come by the aquatic center to register. Payment must be received at time of registration. No drop-ins accepted.
CAMP FRIDAY: FITNESS GAMES, NATURE WALKS, MUSIC & ARTS EXPLORATION! Salida Recreation is partnering with GARNA, Guidestone, Articipate, Maverick Potter & Joe Lobeck from Salida Circus. Each week different activities are grouped around a theme to encourage artistic, musical, natural, scientific and physical exploration. See front desk at Aquatics Center or www.salidarec.com for full schedule and details. Ages 5-8, Fridays, Sept. 23 through Nov. 18, 9am-2pm, cost $5/person/day. Preregistration is required. No drop-ins accepted. All registrations and liability waivers must be completed at the Aquatics Center. Payment must be made at time of registration. Locations/themes subject to change. POOL CLOSURE! The entire pool will be closed beginning Monday, Oct. 3 through Sunday, Oct. 15. Our two week closure will be spent cleaning, painting new lines in the lap pool, and small remodel projects. We will re-open to the public on Sunday, October 16.
SEEKING TRAVELOGUE PRESENTERS! Have you gone on a trip lately that you can’t wait to share with your community? Our Travelogue series is starting back up this month and we need you! Travelogue presenters will coordinate with Salida Recreation and Salida Steamplant staff in putting together a slideshow or other audio visual production, marketing efforts and scheduling.
