DECEMBER TRAVELOGUE! Join Salida Recreation at the Salida Steamplant, Wednesday, Dec. 7 from 7-8:30pm, doors open at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $5/person and a cash bar is available with beer, wine and soft drinks. The Salida Recreation Travelogue series is a great way to see others' recreation related vacations and adventures without ever having to leave Salida. It is also a great way for those that do the traveling to share their experiences with their community. TheDecember Travelogue features Shannon Daileader and her experiences living and teaching in Thailand. “Living and teaching English in one of the many rural rice villages of northeastern Thailand was an experience that can only be described in your standard clichés - unforgettable, inspiring, and hilariously confusing. The number one question I've always gotten since then is "How do you teach English to students who don't understand English?" Well, how do you live in a country for a year that is so drastically different from your own? The answer's the same: you take it slow, embrace the isolation of having no idea what's going on, laugh a lot, and you learn as much as you can."

JIVE AND DIVE! Our monthly middle school ONLY pool party has been rescheduled from Friday, December 9 TO December 16. The time is still the same from 7-9pm. Cost is $5. No preregistration required.
