PSA - Upcoming Salida Recreation Events and Classes for March 2017
MARCH IS HOTEL/HOSTEL EMPLOYEE AND OWNER APPRECIATION MONTH! All hotel/hostel employees and owners can bring in a current paystub or other proof of employment and swim FREE in the public pools all month long. We appreciate you providing our visitors with clean accommodations and extending your hospitality to ensure their return to our community.
JIVE AND DIVE FOR JANUARY! Friday, March 3 from 7-9pm, middle schoolers ONLY pool party. Drop-in, $5.
ROAD TRIP TO GUNNISON! Join Salida Recreation as we take a road trip to Gunnison Friday, March 17. The bus will leave the pool at 8:30am and return to the pool at 5:30pm. We will spend the morning at Jorgensen Ice Rink, break for lunch, then head to the Community Center to enjoy the climbing wall, pool with water slides and swings, and the tumbling room and gymnasium. Ages 6+ are welcome (under 8 needs adult chaperone). The cost is $25/person and includes admission fees, skate rental and equipment use at Community Center. Please bring lunch, water and all your play gear! Preregistration is required. No drop-ins accepted. All registrations and liability waivers must be completed at the Aquatics Center. MARCH TRAVELOGUE! Join Salida Recreation at the Salida Steamplant, Wed., March 15 from 7-8:30pm, doors open at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $5/person and a cash bar is available with beer, wine and soft drinks. The March travelogue features the exploration of the Colorado Trail, the 486-mile long trail from Denver to Durango that passes just west of Salida. Learn about the various ways to travel the trail, including hiking, horseback riding, and mountain biking, presented by several local travelers of the trail. Learn also about the Colorado Trail Foundation’s Volunteer Trail Crews, Adopt-A-Trail program, and coming soon, the CTF Field Operations Center to be built in Poncha Springs. Hosted by Brent Adams, Field Operations Manager for the CTF, and Marilyn Bouldin. MONARCH SKI BUS TO END MARCH 18! The bus service to Monarch Mountain will continue through Saturday, March 18. Buses departs Salida Hot Springs Aquatic Center at 9:00 am SHARP; depart Monarch at 3:30 pm SHARP! All ages; children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. $5 round trip. One way trips can be arranged by calling the pool before bus departs the morning of the trip.
