Join 350 Central Colorado in a 'Parade for the Species' on Earth Day, Saturday, April 22

** Earth Day Celebration/Parade Saturday, April 22nd** Come and enjoy Earth Day festivities on Saturday April 22 in downtown Salida. Learn about the need to care for our planet and the organizations working to do just that as well as build public awareness of critical environmental issues. The event will be highlighted by a kickoff “Parade for the Species,” starting at 9 a.m. at Alpine Park, with everyone invited to participate. The non-political parade sponsored by 350 Central Colorado, will feature people dressed as endangered species and will stage at Alpine Park at 8:30, then at 9 a.m., move from the park down F Street to Riverside Park, with a performance by the renowned Salida Circus along the parade route.
Participants who want to join in can make a species mask at Box of Bubbles every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 6 p.m. prior to Earth Day. For more parade information, call 719-942-4389. Several local organizations will be represented at Riverside Park from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Vendor booths and demonstrations will also be featured at this community celebration.
