Parade for the Species on Earth Day

Good Morning friends and fellow activists,

350 Central Colorado is presenting the “Parade for our Species” this Saturday, Earth Day in Salida.

We need your help. A very dedicated group of us have been working incredibly hard to turn our parade from a vague idea to an exciting reality. We have been given several hundred dollars from several donors for the parade. We have created 20 beautiful banners that need to be carried in the parade. A group of us led by Ken Brandon at Box of Bubbles have been working on masks for weeks now. We also have some paper mache fish and birds that are looking to be carried in the parade. If you have a bicycle we will be thrilled if you will join us. If you simply like to take a walk and smile we will love to have you join us. If you would like to stand on the sidewalk and cheer us on we will love to have you join us. Our parade is a celebration of the all the species of animals on Earth. We are all threatened. Even before the present administration began cancelling all government regulations to protect the species, we were looking at extinction of over 50% of all species on Earth within the next 80 years. Now that will be a much higher number unless we step up. Fighting Climate Change is much bigger than worrying about some weather patterns. It is fighting for the very future of our children and grandchildren. This parade is for them. It will be fun, non-political, yet getting the message out that we and our neighbors of all species are in this together – but our species is the only one that can save us. Please join our Team on Saturday and talk the parade up with your friends and your neighbors and your co-workers. You can be participants or simply cheer us on. We’ll have free ice cream at the 350 Central Colorado Booth after the parade. We can even use help with that. Slushy the Polar Bear will be there for the little children throughout with hugs for all. Give us a call /at 9424389 or email us at [email protected] Please let us know if you will be joining us
