Salida, CO - September 7, 2017
Bridging the Political Divide - Facilitating meaningful dialogue between people holding different political interests, opinions, values and beliefs.
Wanted: Eight individuals interested in mediating collaborative political dialogues to assist in the presentation of a one-day workshop in on October 21, 2017.
There is so much dissatisfaction arising from the conflict, anger, and irreverence surrounding politics and government. Do you share my belief that we can do much better?
On Saturday, October 21, 2017, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM I’ll be presenting the Bridging the Political Divide program at the Presbyterian Church, Salida, CO. The program is a part of Conflict Resolution Month as declared by the Colorado legislature.
The mission of the program is to improve the quality of political dialogue in our community. Ideally, the participants will represent a broad spectrum of political beliefs. The specific issues to be addressed will be determined by the participants.
The program is designed to give people the skills and knowledge necessary to effectively engage in collaborative dialogue. Dialogue that draws strength from a diversity of differences. Dialogue that builds community while respecting individuality. Dialogue that is hard on problems and soft on people.
The mediator training sessions will be for one hour every Thursday at 11:00 AM. The sessions begin on September 14, 2017 and continuing through October 19, 2017. There is no cost for participation other than your time and commitment. Enrollment is limited to eight.
