New Year’s Day 5K Run/Walk

Ring in the new year with a 5k run/walk! Runners, walkers….everyone is invited! It’s a late start for those who stayed up late the night before. Race cost is $10; participants can pre-register at the pool or register the morning of the race (beginning at 9am) at Riverside Park/Scout Hut. Local roller derby league wins first scrimmage

The Ark Valley High Rollers held their first inter-league scrimmage against the High City Derby Divas of Aurora. After spending an hour battling it out on the track, the rookie league landed a 130-76 win.

Look beyond the white noise

We are at the end of an election cycle. The content of the ads and the coverage have little to do with what the candidates vision is for our county, state and country. The commercials rarely provide a coherent statement from their candidate.


I suggest we all do the same.
