Montana fugitive arrested in Buena Vista(1)

On Tuesday morning, the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office was alerted by a detective from the Redding, California Police Department that a subject wanted on a felony warrant from Kalispell, Montana was possibly in the Salida area.

At about 3:30 pm Thursday, an alert was aired by the Chaffee County emergency dispatch center of an escapee from Conejos County jail. A subject in custody of that agency on murder charges had somehow escaped in a stolen sheriff‚s transport vehicle.
