A Houston, Texas man, the subject of a search that began late Saturday night and continued all day Sunday, was finally returned to safety early Sunday evening.

At about 4:50am Friday, sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the facility known as Nature’s Medicine on County Road 150 on the report of an intrusion alarm at that location.

On 07/11/2014 at approximately 2:49 pm there was a whitewater related boating accident on the Arkansas River in Chaffee County, Colorado. The accident occurred in the Pine Creek Rapid section of the Arkansas River, approximately 10 miles north of Buena Vista, Colorado.

For the second year, The Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office has received a grant from the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) to fund overtime for patrol deputies enforcing statutes related to drunk and drugged driving. Chaffee County Search and Rescue-South (CCSAR-S) located a 58-year-old Swissvale man who became stranded near the Blank’s Cabin trailhead Sunday afternoon.
A mysterious poster alarmed Salida High School administrators who discovered it on February 5. It was removed by sheriff’s deputies the same day. The poster was attached to a metal building located across the street from the school, and visible from the school entrance as well as many classrooms.
Officers and deputies inspected more than 500 items and discovered that the business owner could produce little or no documentation for 455 items as required by Colorado state statute.

A married couple was found safe Friday afternoon by Chaffee County Search and Rescue volunteers after the two spent an unplanned night on Mount Columbia.
