I was appalled to see the work recently performed by the Chaffee County Road Department on County Road 156. A road which was in reasonable condition is now far worse.

I’m aware that the Alltel switch, in theory, allows for better use with iPhones, Crackberries and Droids, but now I’m having a lot of dropped calls, which I’ve never had before. What are your experiences Salida?

Most of us will do anything to avoid being wrong. But what if we’re wrong about that? “Wrongologist” Kathryn Schulz makes a compelling case for not just admitting but embracing our fallibility. Along the same lines, confirmation bias is a useful concept to be acquainted with.

The citizens and taxpayers of the Upper Arkansas Water Conservancy District (UAWCD) have a rare opportunity. It appears that a seat representing the district defined by the Salida school district will become available on the UAWCD board

In an emergency meeting on Thursday, the Salida City Council voted to raise City property tax rates by 33% plus an additional $0.32 yearly service fee on each of Salida’s approximately 2500 households.
