9Health Fair introduces online registration(0)

This year, for the first time, participants can preregister and prepay online with a Visa or MasterCard for the fair’s low-cost screenings. To register online, go to www.9healthfair.org, click on Find a Fair, select Salida, click the Search button, then scroll down the page and click the “You can register online now” link. Online registration is cut off at noon the day before the event.

The City of Salida announced Thursday four finalists for the City Administrator position. Finalists are Dara MacDonald of Salida, Mark Heller of Golden, Richard Bellis of Taos, New Mexico and Scott Hahn of Salida.

Open House to Discuss NRC Development(1)

Local Senior Brandon Smith Wins a Boettcher Scholarship(2)

Brandon walks into my office wearing a concerned look; I immediately start to think of ways to console this young man that I have known for almost 8 years. Then I hear the words, “I got it.” The Boettcher Scholarship is the most prestigious merit-based scholarship available to graduating high school seniors in Colorado and was modeled after the Rhodes Scholarship Program.

Udall Launches Community Conversations about Wilderness, Jobs(1)

Mark Udall announced that he is embarking on a series of collaborative, community-driven discussions about whether to create wilderness and national monument designations in two areas of the state – the Central Mountains (Summit, Eagle and Pitkin counties) and Browns Canyon (Chaffee County).
