Salida Aspen concert series presents Jupiter String Quartet, August 6, 7:30pm(0)

The Jupiter String Quartet returns to Salida Saturday, August 6 to perform two Beethoven string quartets in the 5th concert of the Salida Aspen Concert series. The concert is at 7:30 p.m. at the Held.
The Jupiters will play String Quartet in D major, op. 18, no. 3, by Ludwig Van Beethoven, one of the first the great composer wrote, and String Quartet in A minor, op. 132, one of the last he wrote in 1825.

From time to time I have tried to focus the City Council’s Salida Comprehensive Plan discussions on the things we absolutely have to guard and enhance to protect Salida’s and Chaffee County’s future. My short list of those essentials are water, quality environment, affordable health care and quality education. My concern is that we continue to see growth as the only way to sustain what we love about our home. Yet, growth alone, without forethought, will erode the very things we love about this place.

Take Care teen health fair August 10th, from 5-8pm at the high school cafeteria(0)

We will be hosting two teen health fairs, our first Take Care Teen Health Fair is in Salida, August, 10th from 5 – 8 pm in the High School Cafeteria (please enter by the bell). The second Take Care Teen Health Fair is on August, 24th from 4-7pm in the Buena Vista Community Center. Both events will be identical. We have over 20 healthy Community Organizations that will have an interactive booths at the fair.
