In the first of many such workdays planned for 2009, volunteers created about 800 feet of new singletrack on S Mountain, extending Tenderfoot Trail to connect with Backbone Trail.

Salida Mountain Trails called for volunteers to help build singletrack on Saturday, December 6, 2008. We had a great turnout and our energetic volunteers helped build 1000 feet of new trail. Lots of progress is being made thanks to enthusiastic support from the people of Chaffee County!

Salida Mountain Trails has created a new trail for non-motorized users on property owned by Salida near Tenderfoot Mountain. Tentatively known as “Little Rattler”, the trail is the result of a partnership with the City and the culmination of a process which strives to include all trail users and land stakeholders.
