Our goal is to bring mothers and their kids from different ages (1-3) and backgrounds together under one roof to socialize for a couple of hours every week. We believe that such a get together will be beneficial for both the mothers and the toddlers. It will help our kids learn how to share and play, and take turns, and be gentle to one another. It will also allow the mothers to socialize and share our experiences. As we are facing similar challenges with respect to raising our toddlers, we believe that this support group will be invaluable for us.

In supporting our initiative, two institutions in Salida have been very generous with their space. The library and the Bank of the West opened up their basements for us to meet.

The playgroup meetings start on January 20th at the basement of the Salida Library at 9 am. The plan is to meet every Tuesday between 9-11 am at the basement of the Salida Library and every Friday between 9-11 am at the basement of the Bank of the West.
