Salida Mountain Trails called for volunteers to help build singletrack on Saturday, December 6, 2008. We had a great turnout and our energetic volunteers helped build 1000 feet of new trail. Lots of progress is being made thanks to enthusiastic support from the people of Chaffee County!

The City and County are working together to create a transportation plan for the area around Salida so that as we grow, we ensure quality, well-connected transportation infrastructure is constructed. If you would like to help avoid poor transportation designs in the future, please attend a public meeting Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. at the Salida SteamPlant in the Riverside Annex building.

The Chaffee County Commissioner races to date have been a vegetarian pu pu platter: a plateful of tidbits but no meat. Notably absent are discussions about economic priorities, transparency in government and transportation.
