Single-payer health system preserves choice

I am a board-certified family physician unable to actively practice because of effects of bilateral breast cancer radiation on my immune system. When dealing with Los Alamos National Lab’s self-insured United Healthcare administered program, I was evaded throughout the appeal process until arbitration to pay for services that Medicare would have covered to determine the appropriate treatment for my breast cancer.

Recognize the pool’s value

[The pool] was a decisive factor in our decision to relocate here last February. The warm waters provided excellent exercise and therapy as well as a place to meet new friends. The staff and other swimmers welcomed us into Salida with smiles as warm as the waters.

Maybe you should know

For those who are not aware of some things that have happened in Salida during this election campaign, maybe you should. I have stayed silent up to this point but after the incident at the football game Friday, I refuse to remain so any longer.
