Folsom and Barris to perform at SteamPlant – Fri, Oct 3

Join us on the evening of October 3, 7:30, at the Salida SteamPlant for a performance with Rebecca Folsom and Sally Barris. Rebecca Folsom is known for creating new musical entities that are more compelling than the individual parts. That is saying a lot considering the powerhouse that she is and the incredible songwriter-performer that Sally is. Their style and voices complement each other, giving them the dynamic synergy found only in the most natural and gifted of musical marriages. Their sound is clean and pure.

Sally Barris is an A-list Nashville songwriter who has had songs covered by such top-level artists as Kathy Mattea, Martina McBride and Lee Ann Womack. Her song “Let the Wind Chase You”, recorded by Trisha Yearwood and Keith Urban, received a Grammy nomination for vocal collaboration in 2009. What stands out about Sally is her captivating bright spirit and expressive mountain soprano.

The pairing is perfect, with Rebecca’s emotional intensity that is deeply stirring and joyously transcendent. Her performances cover the human landscape from humorous, sexy, life challenging and inspirational to heart opening and spiritual. With an equal dose of angel and little devil, she moves fluidly through luscious, smoky almost speaking tones, and then delivers Janis Joplinesque impassioned ballad.

Friday Oct 3, show 7:30. Tickets $13 advance $13 door. Available online at , also available at the SteamPlant Box Office 530~0933, Salida Chamber of Commerce and Sacred Ground Cafe. A Clark Roberts Production.
