HRRMC to host Women’s Health Day – Sat, Oct 25

Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center will host its sixth annual Women’s Health Day, on Saturday, Oct. 25, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the SteamPlant Event Center, 220 West Sackett Avenue, Salida.

Keynote speaker and award-winning author, Polly Letofsky, will recount her five-year, 14,000-mile walk around the world as she raised $250,000 for breast cancer care. Letofsky’s inspiring story has been featured in more than 2,000 newspapers, magazines, radio and television stations around the world and is the subject of a feature-length documentary, “Polly’s GlobalWalk.”

Attendees can choose between eight sessions throughout the day. Topics include “Lose ‘The Pooch’,” “Put Prediabetes in Reverse,” “Setting Healthy Boundaries” and “Oh, My Aching Back.”

Other seminars explore “Foods that Boost Mood, Memory and Energy” and “Trouble Sleeping?”

The day ends with a choice of interactive sessions: “The Medicine of Mindfulness” and “Easy Peasy Yoga.”

Information and online registration for this community wellness event are available at Space is limited and pre-registration is required by Oct. 20. The $20 cost includes a gourmet lunch catered by Michelle Gapp.
