The HRRMC Auxiliary is hosting a rummage sale and community cookout on Tuesday, Aug. 19, at the Salida Community Center, 305 F St., Salida. The rummage sale runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is followed by the cookout from 5 to 7 p.m.

Benson’s to host family fun night – Aug, 13

Family & Youth Initiatives (FYI) will hold a Back To School BBQ on Thursday, August 14th at the Buena Vista Riverside Pavilion (East Main Street). Free hot dogs and hamburgers will be served from 6:00PM until 8:00PM or until supplies last.

At about 4:50am Friday, sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the facility known as Nature’s Medicine on County Road 150 on the report of an intrusion alarm at that location.

HRRMC Foundation receives $20k bequest

Adrienne Keller Marks served on the HRRMC Hospital and Foundation boards from 2002 to 2010 and was hospital board chairman the final four years of her tenure. A psychologist who practiced in Salida, Marks retired in 2010. She passed away in April 2012.


What Happened To Summer?

It comes as a shock to realize that in a few short weeks, the mountainsides will be swathed with orange and gold. A subtle shift will have taken place in the tilt of the earth and in the tint of blue in the sky, and we will suddenly realize that summer, once again, has snuck by while we were busy making plans about how to spend it.
