Reception for local artist Judy Sprague Aug. 2; proceeds benefit Central Colorado Conservancy

Poncha Springs artist Judy Sprague currently has more than 50 original paintings and drawings on display at Coldwell Banker Collegiate Peaks Realty in Salida, with a reception slated for 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 2. The office is located at 139 W. First St.

A member of Central Colorado Conservancy’s Artists for Conservation, Sprague has generously offered to share a percentage from the exhibit’s sales during the month of August with the Conservancy.

A lifelong artist, Sprague moved to the area under two years ago. She has exhibited in the Valley Visions and Chaffee Arts annual shows, and this will be her first major Salida area exhibition.

“I work full time with my art – over 40 “happy” hours a week painting in my studio,” she says. “My work has been exhibited in numerous local, regional and national juried fine art shows in the past 20 years, and I am proud to say that my art has been accepted into 34 juried national fine art exhibitions since I retired from education in 2002.”
