Chaffee Childcare Initiative Receives CCWWC Donation this Quarter
Chaffe Childcare Initiative (CCI), established in 2019, is dedicated to creating childcare solutions in and around Chaffee County. Our purpose is to establish childcare options in our community. We strive to help find solutions to the childcare crisis experienced by so many parents and guardians in the Arkansas River Valley.
CCI’s first project, The Schoolhouse, began through collaboration with Chaffee County Early Childhood Council, Alpine Achievers Initiative, and the Town of Poncha Springs. With grant funding, including support from Chaffee County Women Who Care in 2019, CCI was able to renovate the Historic Schoolhouse in Poncha Springs to become a licensed and operating child care center.
The Schoolhouse opened in September of 2020 and has served the childcare needs of more than 20 families in our community. CCI is looking forward to expanding care at the Schoolhouse in the near future, and is always working to identify ways to create more child care opportunities to help meet the needs of Chaffee families.
The funds donated from Chaffee County Women Who Care will go directly into the classrooms to help provide high quality learning materials, and to the staff, to establish better wages and benefits for their professional qualifications. We are always looking for community support, so if you are interested in joining the Board or have any questions, please get in touch through our website at ChaffeeChildcare.com
