CREATIVE MIXER IS THURSDAY, JANUARY 14!
The Salida Council for the Arts will hold its monthly Creative Mixer on Thursday, January 14 at 5:30 pm in the Salida SteamPlant. All area artists, writers, musicians, art lovers, and community members are invited to come socialize, catch up on the latest, and network on a casual basis. The event is free and open to the public.
This month's Mixer is being sponsored by Ed and Nancy Konvalinka. Featured guest artists will be Daniel Bailey, Eric Buley, and Matt Varnum. Their mixed-media works--including drawings, paintings, masks, and other handcrafted items--will remain on display throughout January in the SteamPlant's Paquette Gallery. The unique vision of each artist is evident in their work; and viewers are alerted to "expect something out of the ordinary!"
The Creative Mixer's featured musicians will be Salida's popular guitar/vocal duo of Ed and Paula Berg, who enjoy singing "songs that celebrate the stories of life." In addition to music and art, the Creative Mixer also offers free hors d'oeuvres, cash bar, and the perennial favorite "soapbox", where everyone is invited to stand up and share news and announcements of interest to the crowd.
