Salida RV Sewer Dump Station Closed
The RV/camper dump station located in front of the U.S. Forest Service Building at 5575 Cleora Rd is closed permanently effective immediately. The current land lease agreement for the dump station has been terminated and it is no longer financially feasible for the dump station to remain at its current location.
The nearest RV dump station is at the Poncha Springs Visitor Center, which is located at the NW corner of the Highway 50/Highway 285 intersection. The Poncha Springs facility utilizes the same payment technology and dumping mechanism as the Salida station. The fee to dump at the Poncha Springs station is $7.00 and there is a suggested donation of $5.00 for potable water. Non-potable water is provided at no charge. The City will be investigating possible locations for relocation of the Salida RV dump station to a site that is more feasible. Public input will be encouraged during discussions to find a new location for the dump station.

This is a darn shame. Too bad the City and NRCDC couldn't work together on this. Or anything.
