Salida Walking Tour Dec. 2 to Benefit Central Colorado Humanists

The Central Colorado Humanists and Salida Walking Tours are partnering on December 2nd for a unique fundraiser and local history educational experience.

The event features a 75-minute walking tour through Salida’s downtown, recognized as Colorado's largest National Historic District.
Attendees will be shown hidden details in local architecture and hear entertaining stories surrounding Salida's colorful history, including two devastating local fires, gunfights, ghost stories and how the town overcame tough periods, including the closing of area mines, which led to a rebirth as an arts-centric favorite tourist destination.
Salida Walking Tours will donate proceeds from the Dec. 2 tour to the Central Colorado Humanists and its community-oriented mission.

The Dec. 2 tour will begin at noon, and space is limited. The fee is $20 per person and a second tour will be scheduled if the first one fills up.

The Central Colorado Humanists exists to promote Humanism, a rational philosophy informed by science, guided by reason, inspired by nature and art, and motivated by compassion. Among many local activities, the Humanists raise funds to sponsor scholarships for local high school graduates attending a two or four-year college or university.
