FYI's For Kids Sake fundraiser combines adult circus fun, ska dance band on Sat., June 8
SALIDA – Join your friends at Family & Youth Initiatives for Cirque du Chaffee, the 16th annual For Kids Sake fundraiser on Sat., June 8, 6 to 9 p.m. at the Chaffee County Fairgrounds. Expect an entertaining, adult event with circus performers, the lively ska band Swashbuckling Doctors, a silent auction with fabulous prizes, Kalamatapit Catering’s appetizers and mocktails from Tanglefoot Libations at this substance-free event. Tickets are $20.
Youth of the Year Shannon Hall and Volunteer of the Year Jodi Petit will also be honored. Hall has been involved in Youth in Action and the Nurturing Parenting Program as a children’s facilitator. She’s recognized for being a very present, observant volunteer. Petit has been deeply committed to the mission and goals of FYI, and is known for her versatility. Petit has done everything from making and donating items for silent auctions to data crunching to facilitating classes, grant-writing and shooting photos.
FYI’s goal is to raise $50,000 for evidence-based prevention programs and direct services for Chaffee County families and youth. In 2018 alone, FYI served 1,017 Chaffee residents and 17 percent of our youth. FYI is a leader in prevention and family support services. FYI’s programs promote health and reduce risk to build a strong community.
