2015 City of Salida Community Survey

Salida, CO – The City of Salida will be mailing out the 2015 Community Survey to all registered voter households in Salida within the next several days. The purpose of this survey is to help citizens express their opinion on a variety of issues such as quality of life, recreation, public safety, in addition to public policy and capital expenditures. This information will help determine citizen priorities and guide policy for City services and improvements.

This survey will help guide policy and budget decisions in the coming years. It is our hope that your participation will help create a better life for Salida residents and build the potential of our community.

The survey will be closed on April 10, 2015. Results will be made available on the City’s website & presented to the City Council.

Previously conducted in 2009 & 2012, the survey is designed to determine public opinion using straightforward questions with simple “check-the-box” answers. In 2012 there were over 700 responses to the survey. The survey will be sent to every registered voter within the City and is available on Survey Monkey for online respondents. The City will also have survey collection boxes at the library and coffee shops around town for people to return their surveys.

The City provides a variety of services in the community & the City Council values the input from these surveys in considering investment in current and new programs & facilities. Examples of municipal services include Public Safety (Police & Fire), Infrastructure Maintenance (Public Works), Arts & Recreation (SteamPlant, Hot Springs Pool and Recreation Programs), Water & Wastewater Treatment, Parks & Trails, and many others.
