UPDATE - Gentlemen of the Road Salida Stopover

Volunteers are still needed for the Gentlemen of the Road Salida Stopover. The Work Exchange Team is looking for music fans that want to trade a little work for an awesome music experience. Work an approximate six hour shift and have access to the staff ticket price to spend the weekend with great musical performances. As all hours worked are paid hourly wage, Fan Staff are able to enjoy the event with little to no out-of-pocket expense. Limited amount of space is available, apply to volunteer by going to www.workexchangeteam.com and register for the Salida Stopover.

There is a business window decorating contest going on with an opportunity to win fun prizes. The contest is called THE EXTREME MUMFORD MAKEOVER CONTEST. To participate in the contest, you need to follow these simple instructions: GO CRAZY! (Don’t block your entire window—fire safety reasons). Decorate your windows/façade/store/restaurant with paint, decals, banners, GOTR, Mumford & Sons, anything and everything British, ‘Welcome to Salida’, Mumford & Son’s lyrics/song titles, other Stopover band greetings and/or images. Mumford & Sons (yes, you heard it right) will choose the best decorated Salida business. The 1st place winner will receive two backstage lounge passes to hang out where the musicians hang out. The 2nd place winner will receive autographed Mumford & Sons memorabilia. The 3rd place winner will receive GOTR memorabilia. To enter the contest, you must post a picture of your storefront on your Facebook page tagging City of Salida, Colorado in the caption by 5:00 p.m. local time on Monday, August 17th.

People who purchased tickets at the SteamPlant Event Center will be able to pick up their wristbands starting Wednesday, August 12th at the SteamPlant. Normal business hours are Mon. – Thurs. 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. but the SteamPlant is open additional hours during the summer, depending on events. Please call 530-0933 if you need to make arrangements for pick up outside normal business hours.

Anyone who lives off of County Roads 107 or 104 that has not been contacted about parking passes to maintain access to your property during the Salida Stopover, please e-mail [email protected] and provide the number of parking passes your household will need from Thurs., Aug. 20 – Sat., Aug. 22. All incoming vehicles to these roads will need parking passes for access during those dates. The passes will be available for pick up at City Hall on Mon., Aug. 17 and Tues., Aug. 18 from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
