Registration open now for the 2015 Monarch Crest Crank
The Chaffee County Alliance Against Domestic Abuse (AADA) will host its 17th annual Monarch Crest Crank Mountain Bike Ride to raise funds for its programs that empower survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault through education, services, and social change.
This year the Crest Crank will be held on September 20th, 2015, the final day of Salida Bike Fest week, which includes four days of fun for cyclists of all abilities and their families. Sunday’s Crest Crank starts at the top of Monarch Pass at 11,312 feet and quickly climbs to the Continental Divide. The singletrack follows the Divide for 10 miles above tree line through rock gardens and fields of wildflowers, climbs steep hills and drops back into thick pine forests.
The Crest Crank after-party, a post-race Salida tradition, will be held from 12-5 in Riverside Park. The event is free, open to all and features live music, food, drink, and a silent auction that includes a range of fun and funky bike art created by local artists. The event is generously supported by local sponsors.
Registration for the event is open now. Riders can register for the event at http://www.monarchcrestcrank.com/registration . Riders have the chance to win great prizes, including a cruiser bike courtesy of Subculture Cyclery, through personal fundraising.
