Ark Valley High Rollers "Back to School" Fundraiser Mix-Up Bout, Saturday, August 15 @ 7pm
Roller Derby is back on track at the Chaffee County Fairgrounds on Saturday, August 15 with the first of three home team mix-up bouts! This round will feature the Ketchups vs. the Mustards!!!
This is our annual Back to School bout to benefit the youth in our area and we are excited to be able to help make an impact on the lives of many students in their educational endeavors. To help our cause, please come with THREE or more NEW school supplies to be donated (box of Kleenex, Clorox wipes, ream of copy paper or lined notebook paper, package of #2 pencils, calculator, box of 12 colored markers or crayons, etc.). A family of 4 gets in free when you bring a backpack full of school supplies! There will be a donation station for back to school supplies for all our fans to contribute to.
Tickets will be available at the door for $10 with donated supplies or $13 otherwise. The doors to the event at the Chaffee County Fairgrounds will open at 6:00 pm with the first whistle blowing for the bout at 7:00 pm.
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Chaffee County Family and Youth Initiatives. Family & Youth Initiatives serves over 350 Chaffee County youth and families a year through four programs including Chaffee County Mentors, Nurturing Parenting Program, Youth @ Crossroads, and Community Partnership for Families. Their vision is ensuring Chaffee County youth and families are the safest, most healthy and self sufficient in Colorado.
Audience participation is always encouraged so come donning your best Red Ketchup or Yellow Mustard garb or costume to support your favorite skaters. Of course, the local beer will be flowing and there will be a bake sale and Hot Dog bar with plenty of ketchup and mustard for all!
The fun doesn't stop at the last jam, join the skaters at the after party at Currents! Come out and support your local roller derby team with action packed entertainment and family fun.
