Crestone Energy Fair and Collective BioDiesel Conference Aug 27-30
The 26th Annual Crestone Energy Fair welcomes the Collective Biodiesel Conference to this year's event: August 27-30. The joining of these two long standing, nationally-known annual events creates an unprecedented happening in the small hamlet of Crestone, Colorado. The biodiesel conference brings in experts from the bio-energy community, as well as on the ground Do-It-Yourselfers (DIYers) across vegetable oil fuels, biodiesel, biogas, gasification, and solar. Novices and experts alike will find the information enlightening and inspiring and will contribute to discussions of an ecologically-sound and regenerative future. The famous Crestone Energy Fair Home Tour will begin Saturday morning (registrations onsite) while the park will have demonstrations of alternative construction modalities such as rammed earth, strawbale, earthen plasters, and earth bag. Solar cooking, passive solar design strategies, and photovoltaics are also on the bill. Its an event for the whole family with kids activities, vendors, food, and music. Saturday night the Crestone Energy Fair welcomes Matthew Human performing a high energy solo acoustic set. He pioneers the “conscious country” genre, telling musical tales of the simple rural life where community, true love and good food combine with core human values, forming worldwide movements for health and social justice.
