Salida Creative Mixer is Thursday, March 10!

This month's Salida "Creative Mixer" is Thursday, March 10 at 5:30 pm in the SteamPlant Paquette Gallery. Sponsored by Salida Council for the Arts, this popular networking event is a way for local artists, writers, musicians, art lovers and community members to meet and socialize on a casual basis.
As always, the event is free and open to the public.

Featured this month will be a group show by the members of Salida Artists--a consortium of 19 leading studios and galleries in our area, founded in 2000. This unique exhibition, "A Visual Feast of Salida Artists", will offer new works in a wide variety of media and subject matter. All works displayed will be available for purchase.

Featured musician will be hugely popular fingerstyle guitarist Scott Adams--known for his mastery of Hawaiian slack key, folk, blues, ragtime and bottleneck styles. Influenced by Leo Kottke, John Fahey, and Stephan Grossman, among others, Scott has been playing solo for more than 35 years; and builds exotic steel-string guitars as a hobby.

Free hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar will be available; as will the always-popular "soapbox", where anyone can stand up and make announcements of interest to the crowd.

Salida Council for the Arts is an all-volunteer organization working for the betterment of the arts, artists, and community of Salida. For more information visit salidacouncilforthearts.org
