PSA – July is Parks and Recreation Month!
CELEBRATE PARKS AND RECREATION MONTH WITH US – FREE ICE CREAM SOCIALS! July is often the perfect month to spend long stretches of time outdoors with seemingly endless days, abundant sunshine and a wealth of choices for recreation no matter where you live. Congress designated July to be National Parks and Recreation Month across the country. This year, as in years past, the Salida City Council has affirmed this proclamation and recognized the importance of our city parks and public recreation.
Salida Recreation would like to help you celebrate July, no matter how you recreate - through participation in organized events or simply by relaxing in a park. We will be hosting 3 free ice cream socials. These ice cream socials are meant to bring the community together in our public spaces and will take place three Tuesdays in July - July 12 at Chisholm Park, July 19 at Alpine Park, and July 26 at Centennial Park. Each social will be from 6-7pm.
Let Salida Recreation staff and volunteers serve you!! We will have several different flavors of ice cream along with all the fixings for any concoction you dream up! We will also bring games of all kinds for kids and adults alike!
