Eight candidates for mayor and Salida City Council submitted their petitions for the Nov. 7 election before the deadline Monday.
The petitions included two candidates for mayor and two for each city council ward, but no petitions were picked up for the elected city clerk or city treasurer.
Incumbent Jim LiVecchi and P.T. Wood turned in petitions for the office of mayor.
Monika Griesenbeck and Dan Shore submitted petitions for city council Ward 1; Justin Critelli and Richard Leavitt submitted for Ward 2; and incumbent Melodee Hallett and Harald Kasper submitted petitions for Ward 3.
