Pet Health Fair

This week is National Pet Week and to celebrate, Gone to the Dogs is hosting a Pet Health Fair. It will be Saturday, May 7, 2016 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at 235 W. Hwy 50. Gone to the Dogs has teamed up with Dr. Richard Gastellum, DVM to provide free or Low Cost services for cats and dogs. Dr. Gastellum will be on site with his mobile vet clinic: The At Home Pet Doctor. Preventive care and lost pet prevention are the focus of the Pet Health Fair. Certified Professional Dog Trainer and Certified Canine Fitness Trainer (pending), Laura Bussing will provide free services as well.

Free Services offered are Dental Exams, Cancer Screening Exams, Diet & Nutritition Assessments and Body Composition Assessments. Low Cost services are microchipping and rattlesnake vaccine.

"We would like to get as many pets microchipped as possible. We have a great number of pets that get lost in our community and microchipping will help identify the pets owner", says Laura Bussing. "Rattlesnake bites are lethal for dogs and the vaccine helps lower the effects of the bite. It also gives you time to get your dog to the vet. We are excited to be able to offer this service at a low cost so more dog owners can take advantage of it".

Dr. Gastellum is a graduate of Colorado State University School of Veterinarian Medicine with 30 years experience. He recently relocated to Chaffee County from New Mexico. He has a customized motorhome that is a state of the art mobile clinic & surgical facility.
